First post

Decided to take the plunge and run for Cloudcroft School Board. Like my Dad used to say "If you are NOT willing to do it, how can you expect others to do it?"

  1. Love what your dad used to say. I recently ran for Mayor of Mountainair for the same reason. Although i didn't get elected, i'm closely with the person who did get elected to move this town forward.

My dream is to move to Cloudcroft, because it looks like a great place to raise my family. Can you tell me what are the serious issues the school district faces? And what's your plan on addressing them?

  3. Right now I'm still in the process of doing research, reading through old school board minutes and trying to find exactly what the issues are for Cloudcroft schools, so any plans for addressing any issues would be premature.

With prior shortfalls to the education budget at the state level and next year’s potential budget shortfalls, the decisions we make at this level must be with children in mind. I realize we must reevaluate everything so this will be tough on whoever is on the school board. However, larger class sizes and overlapping positions will not produce the desired improvements the parents of students attending Cloudcroft schools are wanting.

I know my girls are getting an excellent education here at Cloudcroft. I want to ensure all our children continue to get the best education possible. This is my main reason I'm seeking a position on the Cloudcroft school board.
